• Due to the Labor Day Holiday, all refuse, recycle and yard waste routes will be delayed one day the week of September 7th.

Curbside collection of refuse and recycling is available to single family households and multi-units of six or less. Household refuse and recycling is collected weekly using city-issued Toters. Toters must be set out by 7:00 am on scheduled collection day. Collections are delayed for the six major holidays of New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas only. Click here for the refuse and recycling schedule.

Unlimited collection for items that are too large to fit in the Toters, such as furniture and mattresses, should be placed at least two feet from the Toters. The only item that requires notification for a special collection is curbside disposal of tires and large appliances.

Yard waste disposal is Pay-As-You-Throw Program. City yard waste bags are collected by a subcontracted service on the same day as your garbage during the months of April through November. During the months of December through March, residents must call DOPS at 419-872-8020 to be placed on the list for collection on Wednesdays. Only city yard waste bags/tagged bundles will be collected. Directions for collection procedures are printed on the city yard waste bags. Yard waste set out in generic bags will not be collected.

There are special drop-off recycling locations for cardboard at the Department of Public Service at 11980 Roachton Road and the Department of Public Utilities at 211 East Boundary during regular business hours of 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday - Friday (excluding holidays). The annual Recycle Roundup is held on the first Saturday of May for safe disposal of household hazardous waste (HHW).
